After years of drought, rebounding water levels at Lake Meredith NRA sparks tourism resurgence

David Wright is betting on Lake Meredith. Wright, 60, has been visiting the lake about 30 miles north of Amarillo since the 1970s and remembers its heyday, when the water level topped 100 feet.

He also watched a drought unfold in the 2000s that sent lake levels plummeting to less than a third of that.
