Australia: Reacting to fishing industry election ads, Greens deny ban is part of their plans
The Australian Greens have rejected claims they will ban recreational fishing as part of their marine protection policy.
The Greens want a third of marine protected areas excluded from fishing.
The Australian Fishing Trade Association has spent half a million dollars on national TV and newspaper ads warning voters about the policy.
The Association's Douglas Joyner says the policy is based on unproven science and will not help replenish fish stocks.
