Australia: Queensland returns Mungkan Kandju NP to Aboriginal ownership, ending 40-year land dispute

The Queensland Government is handing back a remote national park to its traditional owners.

It brings to an end an extraordinary battle for land rights which involved the High Court of Australia. It's a handover ceremony where the Queensland Government is giving the Wik people, the traditional owners of Mungkan Kandju National Park - they're giving title back to them.
