Judge's ruling means pack animals allowed back in Sequoia & Kings Canyon NPs

Commercial companies can again take pack mules and horses into Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks after a judge ruled May 23 in their favor, according to a news report from the parks.

In January, that same judge, U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg, suspended permits for commercial pack animals in the parks, ruling that the National Park Service did not have the authority to grant such permits.
