Local mayor's concerns assuaged after Organ Mountains NMon plans "clarified"
LAS CRUCES - To hear it from Mayor Ken Miyagishima and Jeff Steinborn, an organizer of the proposed Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument designation, it took much of the weekend to resolve concerns Miyagishima had with some language in a draft of the proposal.
Working through midday Sunday, Miyagishima and Steinborn have come to mutual agreement on the proposal and Miyagishima said during Monday's city council meeting that he would bring forward the resolution for formal consideration by the council at its July 16 meeting.
