Missouri representative introduces legislation to create National Civil Rights Trail

Should we create a National Civil Rights Trail? Some members of Congress think it's worth looking into. Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO) introduced the United States Civil Rights Trail Special Resource Study Act of 2012. He picked up 31 cosponsors.

The bill would call on the Department of the Interior (DoI), working with other government agencies, to study protecting and interpreting sites associated with the civil rights struggle and consider putting some of them into the National Trails System.
