Philippines: Government proposes budget boost for 5 NPs
THE government is proposing an additional budget of P7 million for the development and rehabilitation of five additional Protected Areas (PAs) and National Parks (NPs) next year.
In its 2013 National Expenditure Program (NEP), the government through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is eyeing a P2-million budget for Apo and Tubbataha reefs, P1 million for Mounts Banahaw and San Cristobal, P1 million for Mount Kitanglad, P2 million for Northern Negros National Park and Mount Kanlaon and P1 million for the Central Cebu National Park.
