Commission members object to exclusion of slave history sites from proposed Liberty Trail in Virginia's capital
Richmond, VA -- Members of the Richmond City Council's Slave Trail Commission reacted with frustration and disappointment Thursday to a proposed Liberty Trail that does not incorporate important sites of Richmond's slave history.
The Liberty Trail, which is to be painted on city streets and marked on maps distributed by the Richmond Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau, was inspired by a visit to the Freedom Trail during the Greater Richmond Chamber's InterCity trip to Boston.
