UAE: Shark conservation workshop convenes with call for more MPAs in Arabian region
As part of recommendations to introduce legislation to protect sharks in the Arab region, experts have suggested that more marine protected areas be introduced in local water bodies.
On the first day of the four-day Shark Conservation Workshop in Arabia on Monday, the first such event in the region, experts from across the globe and local environment authorities examined solutions to protect the fast-depleting population of sharks in the region.
